Camp Living Waters
Beliefs
As an organization, we believe...
...in the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). He is three persons, but one essence (Deut. 6:4) and has been and will be for all eternity (Psalm 90:2).
He is the Creator of all things that have been created and sovereign over all things (Romans 11:36).
...that God created mankind in order to live in perfect communion with Him. That perfect communion was broken when Adam & Eve chose to go outside God’s plan by breaking His law (sin) (Genesis 1-3). And that since the fall, mankind has been sinning in seeking their satisfaction and fulfillment apart from God (Romans 3:23)
...that God created man in His own image, male and female He created them (Gen. 1:26-27). As a result, their purpose is to glorify Him as they accurately reflect His image and character to the rest of creation (I Corinthians 10:31). Though we live in a fallen world (Romans 8:22) God does not make mistakes (Psalm 18:30). As such, the Bible does not make any distinction between biological sex/gender and perceived gender identity. Rather, every person is created different and in the image of God for the building of up of the Church and for God’s glory.
...that God instituted marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:18-24) as a holy institution for His glory and the mutual good of the couple and that through the holy union of marriage he could show us Christ’s relationship with His church (Ephesians 5:31-32).
...that sexual morality is defined clearly by Scripture as a healthy, fulfilling sexual relationship between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:23-25) married to one another and committed
exclusively to that relationship or celibacy, that is participating in no intimate sexual activity (1 Corinthians 7:1-7)
...that in order to bring His creation back into a relationship with Him, God sent Jesus, his Son (John 3:16), to live a perfect life (2 Corinthians 5:21), to die as a sacrifice, atonement, & payment for the sins of the world (Romans 3:24-25, 1 John 2:2, Romans 5:6-8). That, as a result of the Cross and the Resurrection, God has opened the door to all people to trust in Him as the savior of their sins (Luke 19:10, Acts 13:23-14), repent (I John 1:9), and live a life worthy of their calling (Ephesians 4:1-3, Colossians 1:9-10, 1 Thessalonians 2:12, Romans 6:13, 1 Peter 1:13-19) .
...that the Bible is God’s holy Word, divinely inspired, and relevant to every area of life (2 Tim. 3:16-17). It is inerrant and infallible and unchanging over time (Psalm 119:89, 160; John 17:17). It is to be our sole authority for all matters pertaining to life and godliness (1 Peter 1:3).
