Cabin Leader- Primary responsibility is the supervision of campers. Responsible for the teaching of cabin Bible study, leading cabin devotions, and direction of personal quiet time. Will teach of assist in qualified activity areas. Must be 18 years or older with at least on year out of high school preferred. Must have a servant heart, be willing to spend time with campers, develop relationships with them, and be a positive role model.
Food Service – Includes the following positions:
Head Cook- responsible for planning the menu, ordering food, supervising kitchen staff and cooking. Must be 21 or older. Cook’s Assistant- Assist the cook with food preparation, Kitchen and dinning room clean up, washing pots and pans, mopping and general kitchen duties. Must be 18 years old or older. Kitchen Assistant- Assists with food preparation, Kitchen and dinning room clean-up, mopping, dish washing, and general kitchen duties. Must be *16 or older with those 18 or older preferred.
Nurse- Responsible for health and safety of campers and staff. Will do health screen on each camper, check cabins for cleanliness, dispense medications, care for injured or ill campers and be in contact with our local physician as needed.
Waterfront Director- primary duties include overseeing the waterfront area and maintenance of equipment and area. Must be 21 or older and have the following certifications: WSI, American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Red Cross First Aid, and Professional CPR.
Ranch- Includes the following positions:
Wrangler- responsibilities include care and feeding of horses, teaching horsemanship to campers (using CHA standards), directing trail rides, maintenance of equipment/tack and area. Previous experience preferred. Must be 21 or older and have CHA (certified Horsemanship Association) Certification.
Assistant Wrangler-assist the wrangler with all horse activities, maintenance of equipment and tack, trail rides, etc. Must be 18 or older.
Maintenance- Includes the following positions:
Maintenance Assistant- Will assist in lawn moving, general building repair, grounds upkeep, and assist the maintenance director with other duties on an at need basis. Must be * 16 or older with 18 or older preferred.
Laundry Assistant- will be responsible for doing the kitchen, health center and staff laundry. Will assist in the camp store as available. Must be *16 or older with 18 or older preferred.
Office Assistant- Will assist with general office duties, including answering phones, data entry, camper registration, camper check out and filing. Must be 18 or older.
2009 SUMMER STAFF PAY RATES
Cabin Leader $225 per week
Food Service Head Cook $275 per week Cooks Assistant $210 per week Kitchen Assistant $190 per week
Maintenance Assistant $200 per week Laundry $190 per week Waterfront Director $275 per week
Nurse $275 per week
Ranch Head Wrangler $250 per week Assistant Wrangler $225 per week
Office Assistant $225 per week
Staff Returning to same position – add $10 per week per full summer completed
All positions are six days per week and include room and board, laundry, pre-camp training, workman’s compensation, and special staff functions such as bible studies, staff meeting and worship experiences.
All positions require that you send 30-ministry support letter for prayer support for the summer. Samples and additional help will be provided to those hired. The salary listed above will have Medicare, social security, state and federal taxes withheld.
The summer staff season runs from May 26, to July 28, 2009, and includes an intensive job-training period. Your length of employment may vary depending on your job assignment and availability. Some positions may begin as early as May 1, or run as late as August 31. Staff training, May 26 to June 7, is mandatory. There will be no scheduled days off or exceptions for personal activities during staff training.
*All 16 and 17 year olds must be able to get a Michigan work permit.
